  • Encourage them to describe the properties of familiar materials and objects through verbal descriptions, drawing and written text

  • Read various books about the way animals move and the body parts that assist them in their movements
  • Encourage them to describe and copy the behaviour and sounds of living things such as animals.
  • Ask them to choose an animal and draw everything that the animal would need to survive.

  • Talk about the different types of weather and seasons.
  • Provide them with a weather forecast and ask them  to draw the type of clothing they would wear and the type of activities they would do. Ask them what they would do if the weather changed.
  • Encourage them to explain how the environment affects them and their needs in different environments
  • Encourage them to explain how the environment affects other living things
