- Math – Do math print outs about the number 6
- Craft – Make a blue-tac/play-dough ant (run outside for as long as possible to find the best sticks for legs)
10 – 11 Snack & Play
- Online book and quiz – The Ant and the Grasshopper – BookFlix
- Art – Draw an ant hill – add 6 ants and 6 eggs
12 – 1:30 – Lunch & Play
- Art – Make shadow puppets – ants, grasshopper, ant hill
- Drama – Retell “The Ant and the Grasshopper” story using the shadow puppets
- Art – Make a paper ant and paint it
- Cleanup
- Go for an ant spotting walk – drop some crumbs to feed the ants – take photos
2 – 2:30 Afternoon tea & Play
- Reward & Free time
Craft – Make a blue-tac/play-dough ant
- Get a big blob of blue-tac or play-dough – turn it into 3 balls
- Run around outside and find 6 long sticks for legs, something for the eyes and antennae
- Put it all together and make an ant
